So, now that you've found us in your search for an "Obedience Trainer", let me just explain how much I dislike the word "obedience". If you look up the definition it would look something like this: "compliance with an order or law or submission to another's authority". My gosh! That's not how I want to teach at all!
Teaching your pup doesn't have to be stressful for you or your pet. Dog Obedience by Gina will make training fun for everyone involved.
We will teach your pup basic manners such as sit, down, stay, leave it, focus, loose leash walking, heeling and, most important, to come when called.
We will teach your pup what to chew, where to dig, when to bark, where to eliminate. We will address common behavior problems such as jumping, destructive behavior, reactive behavior, bolting and many other issues that may arise. We also understand that some behavior issues may not be so common and we will listen and address those.
Classes are available at The D.O.G.House.
Private classes can be held in your home or at The D.O.G.House.
Science-based teaching methods are proven to teach quickly, as well as making it enjoyable! We leave you with a detailed set of homework exercises to work on until we continue.
We will love your dogs as we love our own, never using aversive training techniques. During the course of our training program, we will teach manners and respect using luring, capturing, shaping and molding. We will teach your dog to be reliable and under control, off leash, at a distance and around distractions.

"I have been training dogs using positive training techniques since I was a child, luring my first dog with hot dogs through an agility course made of dressers, plywood, ladders and hula hoops."

"Gina has been wonderful to work with. Our puppy Walter absolutely loves her and loves his training classes. She has been able to give us some really easy training exercises that we can practice everyday. Being able to communicate with our dog and have him understand makes our day to day life very enjoyable. I highly recommend Gina to anyone looking for a trainer"
"Gina reallly truly is the BEST. So helpful, so understanding, so generous, so patient. She will be our go-to forever more. Thanks again, Gina!!!!!"
"Gina taught us to get through the tough stuff and not give up."
"Gina was fabulous! I love that she provided weekly lesson plans that explained each command and when to start relying more on verbal rewards instead of treats. She had a good relationship with my pup and I saw a lot of progress during our time working with her and since. Various behaviors that were problematic were addressed and I noticed improvements quickly. We had previously done a 6 week course through a pet store with no where near the results we had from our 6 weeks with Gina. I am so thrilled in the investment we made with our time and money in selecting to hire DOG!"
"Gina was very enthusiastic and helpful and understanding. Her enthusiasm and love for dogs was outstanding. I would highly recommend her to anyone."
"Gina knows her "stuff"! She was very good with my fearful/somewhat agressive puppy. She also didn't push or lock me into a more sessions than I need."
"Thanks to Gina Nichols for being a kick ass dog trainer! She has taught us so much. We appreciate all the lessons and King does too! ❤️"
"I would highly recommend Gina and her techniques for training your dog. When you meet her, you’ll immediately see that she is a kind and caring dog lover and has a lot of patience, both with the dogs and their owners! She educated us on the principles of positive training and finding an alternate behavior. In a short time we are already seeing changes in our dog’s behavior. Gina believes in rewarding desirable behavior rather than punishing behaviors you don’t want."
"I did the 6 week program with Gina to help me with my puppy pitbull (and I also have an adult pitbull). I was very overwhelmed by the puppy and her bad habits, and it was causing a lot of stress in the house. Thank goodness for Gina!!! She helped me so much by showing me how to train the puppy and redirect her negative behaviors. Gina also involved my adult pittie and it became such a great learning and bonding experience for myself and the dogs! They absolutely loved when Gina walked in the door, so excited and ready to train. The 6 weeks with Gina was worth every penny! She really helped me get control and create a wonderful bond between the puppy and our family!"
"Gina is so enthusiastic and down to earth! She got right in and put us on a challenging but clear path to success."
"After consulting with other trainers - Gina came to our house and gave us some great, easy to follow advice to stop some unwanted behaviors from our 4 dogs. Gina obviously loves all dogs and is wonderful to work with!!"
"Amazing experience all around."
"Gina is amazing!!! She has been helping us train our new labradoodle since he was about 10 weeks old. We are new to having a puppy and do not know at all what we are doing. Gina's knowledge has been so valuable. She helps with all of my random questions and shares so much advice with us. And my dog LOVES her. She is a clear animal lover, but she's also great at training us humans on what to do as well. I'd absolutely recommend her as a great dog/puppy trainer!"
